🥳 2025-03 // Celebrating in the studio

Best Jazz Album for Estonian Voices, and upcoming CLUBNIGHT at jazzahead!

Dear friends,

I'm deep into recording sessions these days and worse than ever at emails (apologies! 😇). But there are two pieces of news I simply couldn't keep to myself.

"Kallimale" wins Best Jazz Album 🎉

I'm overjoyed to share that Estonian Voices "Kallimale" has been awarded Best Jazz Album 2025! 🥳

(Introverts in Estonia are not great at bragging, but I’m learning – so maybe it’s not worth mentioning, but… this is my fifth consecutive album to win Best Jazz Album in Estonia. 😉)

What’s also amazing is that we were once again nominated for Album of the Year 2025.

Below is a live recording of Estonian Voices performing “Ma ootan su ära” with Kadri Voorand 4 and the VHK String Orchestra.

Here’s a little story to how this song came about:

The song was born years ago, during COVID, from the feeling of waiting for a great love. But back then, the song didn’t quite reveal itself. And for me, when something doesn’t feel quite right, I keep searching until I find it. No different with love.

Even with all the waiting of that period of time, one thing was clear throughout – when people truly care for each other, the days spent apart don’t change that. People continue to live in that love, even from a distance.

Even how we recorded the first version of the song reflected this. We couldn’t meet physically, but the excitement was just as strong. Everyone rehearsed alone, and when we finally came together, it sounded even more powerful than I had imagined. Over time, the song found it’s shape and became one of the album’s hits.

“Ma ootan su ära” means “I’ll wait for you,” but it’s more than that. It’s about true love having no deadline.

🤍

I’m so grateful that these thirteen musical love stories on the album have been embraced by audiences here at home, and I'm touched by how deeply they've resonated.

If you haven't experienced it yet, find it on Spotify and Apple Music.

Performing at jazzahead!

I'm excited to share some of my newest sounds at jazzahead! in Bremen this April!

I’ll be performing on the CLUBNIGHT at Zentrum für Kunst on April 25 at 7 PM. There will also be some amazing jazz musicians from the Baltics performing, so if you’re at jazzahead!, make sure to come by and enjoy the music – hope to see some familiar faces!

Upcoming shows

In the coming months, I hope to see some of you in Sicily, Germany and Canada (with Estonian Voices), among other places! If you want to get an email as soon as a concert date near you is added, it’s best to follow me on Bandsintown.
